Past Award Winners
The “K-Dog” Memorial Sportsmanship Trophy
This award is in loving memory of one of our brothers, Kenneth Ethan “K-Dog” Kohner, who was lost in 2018, at the age of 21, in a tree-removal accident. Ethan played with the Prowlers from 2013 - 2015 and was named most improved player for the 2013-2014 season.
Read MoreThis award goes to the player who best exhibits the traits and skills that K-Dog exemplified:
- Personification of the ultimate “team first” attitude
- Willingness to play whatever position the coach asks
- Demonstration of hockey sense—whether to make the pass, keep the puck, or take the shot
- Respectful of the rules of the game by staying out of the penalty box
- Willingness as a forward to drop back on defense when a defender crashes the net
- Willingness as a defenseman to crash the net when it is the smart play
- Personification of heads up and fleet of foot skill
Above all else, K-Dog just wanted to have fun playing the game he loved, and he would have wanted you to have just as much fun.
